No -- they (Warner Bros.) wouldn't dare!
If the rights to the books are ever up for grabs in the future, another movie studio will buy them and reboot the franchise.
I see it turned into a TV series/mini-series, but not another movie series.
I cannot even think about this because it's too depressing.
